Four members of Tasmania SES will today be deployed to assist with the NSW flood response.
Following a formal request for specialists to support the SES Incident Control Centre (ICC) Wollongong, NSW, the following multi agency resources will depart Tasmania today:
• Flood Intelligence Specialist – SES Flood Policy Unit – Audrey Lau
• Media Officer – DPFEM CCC Information and Warnings – Samantha Skillern
• SES Operations and Resources PIO Support – Bianca Callinan
• TFS/Tas GRN project – Darren Bradford
Samantha Skillern, Bianca Callinan and Darren Bradford will depart Hobart Airport at 6.15pm today on a commercial flight, with Audrey Lau departing this morning.
“SES Tasmania is very proud to provide this specialist support to NSW in their time of need,” SES Tasmania, Assistant Director Operations and Resources Leon Smith said.
“This is a fine example of the collaboration between agencies in the best interest of community safety. Deployments of support between the states and territories during events of significance are critical in the provision of efficient planning and response. Tasmanians can be very proud of the abilities of our emergency services members.”
Tasmania SES is resourced and prepared to respond to incidents within Tasmania and provide support to other jurisdictions.
