Tasmania SES is reminding the community to be prepared with potentially heavy rainfall and thunderstorms forecast this weekend.
“With a significant low pressure weather system forecast to reach Tasmania tomorrow, it’s timely for everyone to be prepared and keep informed of changing conditions,” said SES Assistant Director Leon Smith.
“Starting tomorrow, and into Sunday, a weather system will cross our state, with the potential for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
“At this stage, highest rainfall totals are expected about the south and east where it is expected that the rain will be more persistent.”
“With thunderstorm activity comes the potential for flash flooding in localised areas, high rainfall values have the potential for minor to moderate riverine flooding from Sunday into early next week within catchments in south east, north east and east coast.”
“Lực lượng Ứng phó Khẩn cấp Tasmania (SES) đang chuẩn bị sẵn sàng cho thời tiết, và chúng tôi khuyến khích cộng đồng cũng làm như vậy.”
Cục Dịch vụ Khẩn cấp Nhà nước khuyên mọi người nên:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au để được tư vấn thêm.
“Hãy nhớ rằng, nếu bạn ở trong khu vực bị ảnh hưởng bởi mưa lớn, lời khuyên từ Cảnh sát Tasmania là hãy lái xe an toàn, đi chậm lại, bật đèn pha và không bao giờ lái xe qua đường ngập nước.”
