Why volunteer?
We provide emergency assistance to hundreds of Tasmanians: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This would not be possible without the support of our 700 dedicated volunteers across the state who have saved the lives and property of countless Tasmanians.
Volunteering for the SES can be one of the most rewarding commitments you can make and you really can make a real difference.
As an SES volunteer you work as part of a team of like-minded people. The experiences you share while training and while responding to emergencies can begin life-long friendships.
We take pride in providing you with nationally recognised skills that mean you can support SES activities such as:
