Draft Tasmania Fire and Emergency Service Bill and Regulations 2026 – Have Your Say

The Tasmanian community is invited to provide feedback on the draft Tasmania Fire and Emergency Service (TFES) Bill and Regulations 2026 and to help shape the new legislation. This is a significant step in implementing the TFES reforms.

Upon implementation, the TFES Bill 2026 will replace the existing Fire Service Act 1979 and regulations. Amendments to the Emergency Management Act 2006 regarding the functions of the SES will also be required. These functions have been incorporated into the draft Bill.

Feedback previously received in relation to ‘協議文書 – TFES規則および支援プロセス’ (PDF, 536 KB) have been carefully considered as part of developing the new TFES Regulations although may not be fully reflected in the working draft.
