Tasmania SES is asking the community to be prepared with potentially heavy rainfall and thunderstorms forecast across the state today.
“With a significant weather system forecast across the state today, we are advising everyone to be prepared and keep informed of the conditions,” said SES Assistant Director Leon Smith.
“The weather system, including possible severe thunderstorm activity, is expected to cross the state starting on the west coast as far south as Strahan this morning before extending to the north coast around Bridport.
“The system is then expected to move to the south of the state early this afternoon.
“With thunderstorm activity comes the potential for flash flooding in localised areas.
“Tasmania SES is preparing for the weather, and we encourage the community to do the same.”
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

- 가족과 이웃이 경고를 인지하고 있는지 확인하십시오.
- 반려동물과 가축을 관리하세요.
- Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
- 정전 시 대비하시고, 정전 발생 시 TasNetworks(132 004)에 신고해 주세요.
- 파손된 나무와 전신주를 조심하고 운전 시 주의하십시오.
- Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
“Remember, if you’re in an area that becomes affected by heavy rains, advice from Tasmania Police is to be safe on the roads, slow down, put your headlights on, and never drive through a flooded road.”
