<\/figure>\n\n\n\nMap 1 \u2013 Levee Protected are of Invermay to a 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) flood event (Major Flood). Flooding often happens in Tasmania and can cause widespread and significant damage. In the past 200 years there have been 78 flood related deaths in Tasmania. This guide is to help you understand flood risk in the Invermay and the Inveresk areas and provide you information on what you can do to prepare for, respond and recover from a major flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The maps at the start of this document are there to provide an understanding of the impact of a major flood in the Invermay and Inveresk area should the flood levee’s fail or overtop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Invermay and Inveresk are one of the most flood prone areas in Tasmania, being on a floodplain at the junction of 3 major rivers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Major flooding of the South Esk River is the greatest risk to Invermay, with a combined South Esk and North Esk Rivers flood event increasing the risk to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Levees help protect properties around Invermay. However, there is no guarantee they can withstand a major flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Experiences in other countries show that levee failures can be gradual or sudden. Low lying parts of Invermay may flood quickly. Flood waters may isolate other areas of the suburb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If the levees failed, people’s lives could be at risk in Invermay as evacuation would be difficult. Roads in and around the suburb will be closed due to the levee. Some other routes around Launceston may also be flooded. There will be long traffic delays. Isolated areas would probably not have services such as power, water and sewerage. These may take some time to restore after a major flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The State Emergency Service, Tasmania Police and the City of Launceston have worked to identify Critical Decision Points (\u2018Trigger Points\u2019) for actions that will keep people safe in a major flood event. These are outlined further in this document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If the South Esk River is predicted to reach a certain flood height, a Voluntary Evacuation may be declared, it is recommended that you go somewhere safer until the water goes back down. If the river reaches a higher level, a directed Mandatory Evacuation will commence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If a Mandatory Evacuation is called, services such as electricity, water and gas will be cut off to reduce hazards and protect assets so services can be restored as soon as possible when flood waters go down. If you decide to stay you will not have any of these services in your house – it is much better if you leave and leave early. If you stay, you could put yourselves and others at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6709\u5ba0\u7269\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u53ef\u80fd\u7684\u8bdd\uff0c\u4f60\u5e94\u8be5\u5e26\u4e0a\u4f60\u7684\u5ba0\u7269\u3002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u5982\u679c\u53ef\u4ee5\uff0c\u6700\u597d\u5728\u623f\u5c4b\u9762\u4e34\u6d2a\u6c34\u98ce\u9669\u65f6\uff0c\u53bb\u4eb2\u621a\u6216\u670b\u53cb\u5bb6\u66f4\u5b89\u5168\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u6682\u4f4f\u3002\u5982\u679c\u60a8\u65e0\u5904\u53ef\u53bb\uff0c\u5f88\u53ef\u80fd evacuation centre opened at the Silverdome \u2013 55 Oakden Road, Prospect Vale<\/strong>. Keep checking Tas ALERT<\/a> or listen to ABC local radio during a flood event for important information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SES, City of Launceston and Tasmania Police can also provide information on where to go and how you can get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In such flooding events, some areas outside of Invermay may also be isolated due to flooding of the low lying areas, roads may have flood waters across them. It is dangerous to drive through flooded roads, particularly in isolated areas. It is recommended to find an alternative route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Traffic is likely to be heavy throughout the city as roads and levee gate closures restrict traffic movements, so the best option is to leave early and allow plenty of time to get to a safe place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u5982\u679c\u5824\u575d\u51b3\u53e3\u6216\u88ab\u6f2b\u8fc7\uff0c\u90a3\u4e9b\u672a\u5728\u63a5\u5230\u6307\u793a\u65f6\u53ca\u65e9\u64a4\u79bb\u7684\u4eba<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u68c0\u67e5 TasALERT.com<\/a> \u5728\u6d2a\u6c34\u4e8b\u4ef6\u4e2d\u7684\u5173\u952e\u4fe1\u606f<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No two floods are the same. Floods like the one shown in the map or worse will occur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you live in a low-lying area you may be at risk of flooding if the levee system fails. Consider leaving early during the Voluntary Evacuation stage. Even if your home is not flooded, access to the area will be restricted. There may not be utility services such as power, gas and water for some time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Never drive through, or enter flood waters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u4e86\u89e3\u8be5\u600e\u4e48\u505a\u53ef\u4ee5\u633d\u6551\u4f60\u7684\u751f\u547d\uff0c\u5e76\u4fdd\u62a4\u4f60\u7684\u8d22\u4ea7\u3002\u5236\u5b9a\u5bb6\u5ead\u5e94\u6025\u8ba1\u5212\u662f\u6700\u597d\u7684\u51c6\u5907\u65b9\u5f0f\u4e4b\u4e00\u3002.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u5728\u5bb6\u4e2d\u5e94\u6025\u8ba1\u5212\u4e2d\u5305\u542b\u758f\u6563\u9636\u6bb5\u548c\u884c\u52a8\u89e6\u53d1\u5668\u3002.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Map 3: Evacuation routes to the Silverdome Evacuation Centre from the Inveresk\/ Invermay area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n % \u5e74\u8d85\u503c\u6982\u7387 (AEP) \u6d2a\u6c34\u4e8b\u4ef6\uff0c\u5728\u4efb\u4f55\u7ed9\u5b9a\u5e74\u4efd\u90fd\u6709% \u7684\u53d1\u751f\u51e0\u7387\u3002\u60a8\u4e00\u751f\u4e2d\u81f3\u5c11\u4f1a\u9047\u5230\u4e00\u6b21\u8fd9\u79cd\u9891\u7387\u7684\u6d2a\u6c34\u3002.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u81ea\u6b27\u6d32\u4eba\u5b9a\u5c45\u4ee5\u6765\uff0c\u6717\u585e\u65af\u987f\uff08Launceston\uff09\u957f\u671f\u906d\u53d7\u6d2a\u6c34\u4fb5\u88ad\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u67e5\u770b\u5730\u56fe\uff0c\u4e86\u89e3\u60a8\u7684\u4f4f\u5b85\u6216\u4f01\u4e1a\u5728\u6d2a\u6c34\u6216\u5824\u575d\u4fdd\u62a4\u533a\u5185\u662f\u5426\u53ef\u80fd\u9762\u4e34\u98ce\u9669\u3002\u60a8\u4f4f\u5b85\u6216\u4f01\u4e1a\u9762\u4e34\u7684\u98ce\u9669\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u6f5c\u5728\u7684\u6df9\u6ca1\uff0c\u6216\u516c\u7528\u4e8b\u4e1a\u670d\u52a1\u4e2d\u65ad\u548c\u5b64\u7acb\u3002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u82f1\u8054\u90a6\u53d1\u51fa \u6d2a\u6c34\u89c2\u5bdf <\/strong>when predicted weather might cause floods for the North Esk River. A Flood Watch may:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u7269\u6599\u6e05\u5355\u95ee\u9898 \u6d2a\u6c34\u8b66\u544a<\/strong> with specific flood heights for the South Esk River and North Esk River. Flood gauges along the rivers provide warnings of flood heights and the possible impacts in Launceston. Tides can also add to the flooding risk around Invermay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The North Esk and South Esk rivers have pre-determined triggers for an evacuation to be declared. Tasmania Police and SES will issue the evacuation notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Evacuation triggers \u2013 Flood height and water volume flowing from the South Esk River at Trevallyn Pond<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u53ca\u65f6\u4e86\u89e3\u8b66\u544a\u548c\u5176\u4ed6\u5173\u952e\u4fe1\u606f\uff0c\u8bf7\u8bbf\u95ee tasalert.com<\/a> \u6536\u542cABC\u672c\u5730\u5e7f\u64ad\u3002BOM\u7684\u8b66\u544a\u53ef\u4ee5\u5728\u5176\u7f51\u7ad9\u4e0a\u627e\u5230\uff0c\u7f51\u5740\u662f \u5854\u65af\u9a6c\u5c3c\u4e9a\u5929\u6c14\u548c\u8b66\u544a (bom.gov.au)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n *\u4e00\u7acb\u65b9\u7c73\u6bcf\u79d2\u7684\u6c34\u91cf\u662f\u591a\u5c11\uff1f\u2013 \u4e00\u7acb\u65b9\u7c73\u6bcf\u79d2\u7b49\u4e8e\u4e00\u79d2\u949f\u5185\u6bcf\u79d2\u6d41\u8fc7\u4e00\u70b9\u7684\u7acb\u65b9\u7c73\u6c34\u3002\u4e00\u7acb\u65b9\u7c73\u6c34\u7b49\u4e8e\u4e00\u5343\u5347\uff0c\u91cd\u4e00\u5428\u3002.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
