If you need to evacuate, you should leave early, before flood waters rise. Listen to ABC local radio for warnings and advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In such flooding events, the Westbury area may be isolated due to flooding of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Meander Valley Road<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Birralee Road and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Osmaston Road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Flooding, landslips or fallen trees may also cut minor roads. It is dangerous to drive through flooded roads, particularly in isolated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if your home is not inundated, you may be isolated for several days. You should have supplies for up to three days and be prepared for power and telecommunications outages. Note if you are isolated, you may not be able to access medical or other help if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">B\u1ea1n c\u00f3 nguy c\u01a1 b\u1ecb l\u0169 l\u1ee5t kh\u00f4ng?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Example past flooding events around Westbury include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In June 2016 properties and roads were impacted by flood waters around Westbury. A Flood Watch may<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be for a specific area such as Deloraine, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be generalised such as for Great Western Tiers, Central Plateau or Central North forecast district.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>BoM issues a<strong> Severe Weather Warning <\/strong>for very heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding whenever this weather is occurring or is expected in an area. The amount of time between the warning and the arrival of heavy rain can vary from an hour to 24 hours or sometimes more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no gauging stations in the Quamby Brook catchment to support BoM to issue <strong>Flood Warnings <\/strong>with specific flood heights for Quamby Brook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No two floods are the same. Floods like the one shown in the map or worse will occur again.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you live in a low-lying area you may be at risk of flooding. Even if your home is safe, you may need to detour around flooded areas. Never drive through or enter flood waters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Knowing what to do can save your life and help protect your property. Preparing a Home Emergency Plan is one of the best ways to prepare.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Include weather and rainfall triggers for action in your Home Emergency Plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flood levels for Westbury and surrounds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While no two floods are the same, the following table shows what you can expect at different flood levels around Meander. Even if your property is not flooded, you need to think about access routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nh\u1ecf<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Flooding is largely contained to the river channel with some minor breakouts into adjacent paddocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Livestock and agricultural equipment should be moved from low lying areas near the river.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no buildings at risk of inundation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No properties are isolated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no roads inundated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moderate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water spills over riverbanks and covers larger areas of land.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Westbury Town Common open space area is flooded<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Livestock and agricultural equipment should be moved from low lying land<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some homes along Field Street may become surrounded by shallow flood waters.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Above floor flooding is unlikely<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isolation of some rural properties as access roads become flooded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flooding may close road sections:<ul><li>Osmaston Road<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Moore Street<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Field Street<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Birralee Road<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Selbourne Road<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Bogan Road<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Quamby Brook Road<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Golden Valley Road<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cluan Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Major<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Widespread flooding into the floodplain, impacting some homes and buildings with above floor flooding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Livestock and agricultural equipment should be moved to the highest areas available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Above floor flooding is likely for some homes and buildings along Mary Street, Lonsdale Street and Field Street.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are increased numbers of rural properties isolated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meander Valley Road is likely to be closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Bi\u1ebft r\u1ee7i ro c\u1ee7a b\u1ea1n, chu\u1ea9n b\u1ecb s\u1eb5n s\u00e0ng, gi\u1ea3m thi\u1ec3u r\u1ee7i ro n\u1ebfu c\u00f3 th\u1ec3, k\u1ebft n\u1ed1i v\u1edbi ng\u01b0\u1eddi kh\u00e1c, lu\u00f4n c\u1ea3nh gi\u00e1c v\u00e0 h\u00e0nh \u0111\u1ed9ng an to\u00e0n.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tr\u01b0\u1edbc tr\u1eadn l\u0169 l\u1ee5t<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.
