Landslips can also be slow moving and happen over many months or years.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc192102673\"><\/a>During a landslide<\/h2>\n<p>If a landslide could affect \u00a0your property<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If it looks like a landslide is happening quickly, leave immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Alert proper officials if a landslide movement\n<ul>\n<li>has occurred, or<\/li>\n<li>imminent failure is suspected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Alert neighbours as they might also be affected by the landslide, especially if they are down the slope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc192102674\"><\/a>After a landslide<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay clear of unstable areas. Instable areas can continue to expand in all directions.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off water, gas and electricity.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure others are aware of the danger (for example, rock fall onto a road).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have been affected by a landslide, expect<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ongoing movement of the slide,<\/li>\n<li>continuing falls or flows of material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc192102675\"><\/a>\u0e23\u0e39\u0e49\u0e08\u0e31\u0e01\u0e04\u0e27\u0e32\u0e21\u0e40\u0e2a\u0e35\u0e48\u0e22\u0e07\u0e02\u0e2d\u0e07\u0e04\u0e38\u0e13<\/h2>\n<p>\u0e14\u0e39 <a href=\"https:\/\/alert.tas.gov.au\/get-ready\/risk-ready\/\">TasALERT\u2019s Risk Ready tool<\/a> to see if your property is at risk of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>landslide or<\/li>\n<li>coastal erosion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Land use planning helps avoid building in areas prone to landslip, but there are some areas where landslip can affect buildings or roadways.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc192102676\"><\/a>Reduce your landslide risk<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn about the landslide risk in your area \u2013 see <a href=\"https:\/\/alert.tas.gov.au\/get-ready\/risk-ready\/\">TasALERT&#8217;s RiskReady tool<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Be aware that landslide insurance is not available anywhere in Australia.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with land use planning and building regulations about slope stability.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that any construction work does not increase the landslide risk.
