Penduduk Tasmania digalakkan supaya bersiap sedia harta benda mereka menghadapi hujan lebat dan angin kencang di seluruh negeri serta bersiap sedia untuk kemungkinan berlakunya banjir kilat.

\u201cPerkhidmatan Kecemasan Negeri sedang bekerjasama rapat dengan Biro Meteorologi untuk memantau dan bersedia menghadapi keadaan ramalan esok,\u201d kata Pengurus Serantau Mark Nelson.

\u201cOrang ramai di kawasan ramalan cuaca yang disenaraikan oleh BOM harus bersiap sedia di hartanah mereka hari ini untuk menghadapi hujan lebat dan angin kencang. Ini termasuk membersihkan saluran air dan longkang untuk memastikan ia boleh mengalir dengan lancar, serta mengikat barangan longgar termasuk perabot luar dan peralatan permainan.

\u201cApabila angin kencang digabungkan dengan hujan lebat, ini meningkatkan risiko pokok tumbang, jadi orang ramai juga mesti mengambil maklum tentang potensi ini. \u201cPerkhidmatan Kecemasan Negeri sedang bersiap sedia untuk menempatkan Pasukan Sukarelawan dalam keadaan bersiap sedia untuk membantu masyarakat. Kami meminta orang ramai mengambil masa hari ini untuk bersiap sedia menghadapi bahaya yang dikaitkan dengan hujan lebat dan angin kencang,\u201d kata beliau.

SES menasihati orang ramai supaya melakukan perkara berikut untuk bersiap sedia menghadapi cuaca buruk:
Bersihkan longkang dan saluran air daripada serpihan supaya ia mengalir dengan lancar
\uf0b7 Ikat atau simpan barang-barang luar rumah termasuk perabot dan alat permainan dengan selamat
\uf0b7 Berjaga-jaga dengan pokok tumbang dan talian kuasa elektrik
\uf0b7 Pantau keadaan dan pindahkan ternakan serta peralatan dari kawasan rendah mengikut keperluan
\uf0b7 Periksa bahawa keluarga dan jiran sedar tentang amaran
\uf0b7 Jangan sekali-kali memasuki air banjir atau memandu di atas jalan yang dinaiki air \u2013 hanya 15cm air diperlukan untuk menghanyutkan sebuah kereta
\uf0b7 Berwaspada terhadap serpihan di jalan raya selepas banjir surut
