State Preparedness Project 2009-2010

The State Preparedness Project* is a State Emergency Service (SES) initiative running over 2009-2010 to support the groups responsible for plans authorised by the Emergency Management Act 2006, to renew their plans.

This includes plans at municipal, regional and State level, over 40 plans! The project will also deliver some validation resources so the adequacy of arrangements can be assessed-an implicit part of the emergency planning process.

This work will be achieved by SES working with each responsible group (known as the Review Authority) and coordinating the renewal of the plans. In 2010 SES also anticipates providing some dedicated extra resource and advice for this work.

* The State Preparedness Project includes the SEMC 2009 Priority 7 for State Special Plans. On 27 November 2008, the State Emergency Management Committee approved the development of a renewed collection of state level emergency plans using the provisions under Section 35 of the Act
