Advice – potential heavy rainfall

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for potential heavy rainfall for people in Tasmania’s Furneaux Islands, East Coast and parts of the North East Coast for Wednesday afternoon and evening, easing overnight. 24hr rainfall totals in excess of 40mm are possible, but isolated falls of up to 90mm may occur. Flash flooding is possible. Locations which may be affected include Whitemark, St Helens, Swansea, Bicheno, Orford and Fingal.

Flood waters are a risk to safety.

Property, livestock, equipment and crops in low lying areas may be at risk from flood waters.

Driving conditions may be dangerous.
