2016 Resilient Australia Awards Logo

The Resilient Australia Awards (RAAs) is a national program to recognise and promote initiatives which strengthen community disaster resilience across the nation.

The RAAs are open to everyone; individuals, not-for-profit organisations, small and large businesses, local and state government, schools, education institutions, research bodies and emergency service agencies.

There are five State award categories: the Community Award; Business Award; Government Award; School Award; and Photography Award (People’s Choice Award).  There are three national level awards: Resilient Australia National Award; Resilient Australia School National Award; and Resilient Australia National Photography Award (Editor’s Choice Award).

Tasmania has punched well above our weight in these awards in recent years and there are some tremendous projects that are well deserving of recognition at a state and national level.  If you’re handy with a camera, have a go!  There were no photography entries from Tasmania in 2014 (the first year of this category).
