About Emergency Management
The SES provides whole of government advice and executive
support to the State Emergency Management Committee and Regional Emergency
Groups. It also takes the lead with much of the State's emergency
management planning and emergency risk management work, and this work is undertaken by the Emergency Management Unit. The SES occasionally works with industry on emergency planning. As part
of this, the SES also facilitates the process of Emergency Risk
Management within the community.
The SES encourages agencies, Local Government, volunteer organisations and private enterprise to undertake projects which result in safer communities. These projects may be recognised through the Resilient Australia Awards which are conducted at both a national and State level.
